Want to hear more about Give shape to your idea – The Pre Concept?

Understanding the Tool

The pre-concept poster is an easy way to start giving a bit more substance to an idea by answering some fundamental questions about how the idea will manifest itself in the world if realized. In design, we make concepts that serves as a kind of recipe for how a solution to a problem is realized or executed. A pre-concept is a an early concept, that helps us to imagine the idea unfolding in a bit more detail. Especially when working in the early iterations of a design process, it is incredibly useful to use a pre-concept as a opportunity to discuss some of the more basic decisions and perspectives on a solution.

How to Use the Tool

  1. Take an idea from your brainstorm and place it in the center of the poster.
  2. Answer the questions on the poster as specifically as possible. Discuss along the way which of your answers are decisions and which you are unsure about and might need to test.
  3. Lastly, fill in the field that asks what you are curious about. This is where you write what you need to go out and test and learn more about regarding your idea.
