The assignment was for The Danish National Bank in connection with my employment at the Danish Design Center (DDC)

Other:

Design as a common language across the organization

The Danish National Bank asked me and DDC to facilitate a creative design session for their employee seminar in 2021. The goal of engaging 400 employees in a creative process was to generate ideas for small initiatives that could foster more internal collaboration across the organization. Additionally, they wanted employees to feel that top management supported creative proposals for changes from all parts of the organization.

What I did included advising the event team on an overarching learning framework for the entire day, consisting of a personal logbook and themed questions, as well as developing and facilitating a workshop session where all 400 participants worked in interdisciplinary groups. The aim was to help the diverse professional backgrounds, from service staff to top executives, discover a common language and shared intention for cross-organizational collaboration through visual design tools.

What they took away from the day, besides an energetic and novel experience, was a tailored design process and tools that employees could easily use in their daily work.

Moreover, innovation and creativity were introduced in a very practical way in an organization where such thinking was not typically part of the culture.
